Coherent terahertz systems

2012 IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics, 2012
We present a novel concept for THz systems based on a photonic local oscillator. We propose that such systems will enable the creation of highly coherent, thus highly sensitive systems for frequencies ranging from 100 GHz to 5 THz. Coherent THz systems would widen the potential application range by reducing equipment cost and increasing sensitivity. To

On Multistate Coherent Systems

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1984
Recently, several authors have treated multistate systems and given some results. This paper summarizes the several concepts of s-coherency and shows the relationships between them. An interesting theorem for the existence of series and parallel coherent systems is presented.

Fuzzy Coherent Systems

Kybernetes, 1988
With the object of translating some concepts and results from classical Reliability Theory into particular types of multistate systems, this article starts by presenting some basic definitions of fuzzy systems. The concepts of fuzzy coherent and fuzzy crisp‐based systems are examined and some results on fuzzy coherent structures are presented.

Multistate coherent systems

Journal of Applied Probability, 1978
The vast majority of reliability analyses assume that components and system are in either of two states: functioning or failed. The present paper develops basic theory for the study of systems of components in which any of a finite number of states may occur, representing at one extreme perfect functioning and at the other extreme complete failure.
