Investigation of evolution strategy and optimization of induction heating model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
An optimal design method using the finite element method and the evolution strategy (ES) is investigated. The evolution strategy is applied to the optimization of induction heating model.

Rational Design of Phosphorylation-Responsive Coiled Coil-Peptide Assemblies

open access: yesACS Synthetic Biology, 2023
De novo peptides and proteins that switch state in response to chemical and physical cues would advance protein design and synthetic biology. Here we report two designed systems that disassemble and reassemble upon site-specific phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, respectively.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Design and analysis of a wireless power transmission system with magnetic coupling resonance in the weak-coupling region

open access: yesChinese Journal of Electrical Engineering, 2019
The magnetically coupled resonant wireless power transfer (MCR-WPT) system for implantable medical devices has gradually become one of the research hotspots.

Design and Optimization of Ground-Side Power Transmitting Coil Parameters for EV Dynamic Wireless Charging System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper proposes a ground-side power transmitting coil parameter design method that takes the length of the transmitting coil as an optimization target, which takes into account the driving speed of EV (Electrical Vehicle), the EV's power consumption ...

DESIGN OF INDUCTION COIL FOR OXYGEN FREE COPPER PRODUCTION

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2021
This paper deals with the design of an induction coil (IC) intended to be used for an oxygen free copper production. This coil differs in design because it should be placed in a vacuum or in a chamber filled with noble gas, such as Argon.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

6.78-MHz, 50-W Wireless Power Supply Over a 60-cm Distance Using a GaN-Based Full-Bridge Inverter

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
An inductive wireless power transfer system is proposed as a power supply for an on-line monitoring system for an overhead catenary. Because of the high voltage (25 kVrms) applied to the catenary, galvanic isolation was required to supply power to the ...

The effect of asymmetry of the coil block on self-assembly in ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Using the self-consistent field approach, the effect of asymmetry of the coil block on the microphase separation is focused in ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers.

Designed Coiled Coils Promote Folding of a Recombinant Bacterial Collagen [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2011
Collagen triple helices fold slowly and inefficiently, often requiring adjacent globular domains to assist this process. In the Streptococcus pyogenes collagen-like protein Scl2, a V domain predicted to be largely α-helical, occurs N-terminal to the collagen triple helix (CL).
