Rapidly Solidified Gas-Atomized Aluminum Alloys Compared with Conventionally Cast Counterparts: Implications for Cold Spray Materials Consolidation

open access: yes, 2020
In this work, three commercially available aluminum alloy systems (Al 2024, Al 6061, and Al 7075) were considered to explicitly capture the differences in material properties associated with a rapidly solidified, gas-atomized particulate feedstock as ...

Investigating the Cytoskeleton of DRGs Using Cryo‐Electron Microscopy and Deep Learning

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a method for determining the ultrastructural organization of axons and varicosities of cultured dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Cryo‐EM reveals the dimensions, proximity, and overall organization of biological specimens in a near‐native state, avoiding artifacts of fixation and ...

Investigation of the In Vitro and In Vivo Metabolism and μ‐Opioid Receptor Affinity of the Nitazene N‐Pyrrolidino Fluetonitazene

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Eight metabolites for N‐pyrrolidino fluetonitazene were identified in vitro, three of which (M2, M6 and M8) were present in an authentic urine sample. M2 was the most abundant in vivo metabolite and is a common marker metabolite of nitazepyne‐type substances.

Transition Metal Compounds as Thermochromic Materials: Classification, Properties, Limitations, and Applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

A preliminary study of the oxidation behavior of TBC with cold spray CoNiCrAlY bond coat

open access: yes, 2010
Cold gas dynamic spray (CGDS) utilizes a supersonic gas jet to accelerate fine solid powders above a critical velocity at which particles impact, deform plastically, and bond to the substrate material in the ambient environment.

Novel PTFE/PI Nanofibrous Composite Membranes Enabling High‐Flux Desalination and Durable Anti‐Scaling in Membrane Distillation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration comparing the MD performance of pure PTFE NFMs and PTFE/PI NFMs. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membranes are widely recognized for their low surface energy and strong resistance to salt accumulation in membrane distillation (MD) processes.
