Wear behavior of contacting between thin film coating on SKD11 ball and 304 stainless steel disk [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2007
Wear is a well known problem in metal stamping die, especially on the die working with stainless steel workpiece, in which wear rate is severe. This research considered various types of material coating on tool surface which were regularly practised in ...

3D FEM simulations of the rolling of stator vanes, including tool deformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Tool deformation is an important issue in the shape rolling of stator vanes as it directly influences the thickness of the rolled vane. This means that for the design of an accurate production process the deformation of the tools has to be accounted for.

Optimisation of post-drawing treatments by means of neutron diffraction

open access: yes, 2008
The mechanical properties and the durability of cold-drawn eutectoid wires (especially in aggressive environments) are influenced by the residual stresses generated during the drawing process.

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Computer-aided analysis and design of the shape rolling process for producing turbine engine airfoils [PDF]

open access: yes
Mild steel (AISI 1018) was selected as model cold-rolling material and Ti-6Al-4V and INCONEL 718 were selected as typical hot-rolling and cold-rolling alloys, respectively.

Tensile and Fatigue Performance of Cold-Work Tool Steels for Adjustable Forming Tools

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Forming tools adjustable by tensile elastic deformations offer opportunities for improved process control and reduced wear in high-volume metal forming processes such as ironing. However, the lack of tensile and fatigue data for hardened cold-work tool steels limits their broader adoption.
