HNF3α Targets Nckap1l and Promotes Renal Fibrosis Following Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 3 alpha (HNF3α) is significantly upregulated in renal tubular epithelial cells of CKD patients and fibrotic mice. Deletion of HNF3α mitigates IRI‐induced renal fibrosis, while overexpression worsens it. HNF3α directly regulates NCK‐associated protein 1‐like (Nckap1l), whose overexpression exacerbates fibrosis.

Ligamentum arteriosum and its telocytes: An ultrastructure description

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 306, Issue 1, Page 187-192, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Results from my study have shown in 2022 the existence of telocytes (TCs) in mice ligamentum arteriosum (LA). Telocytes (TCs) are unique interstitial or stromal cells of mesodermal origin, defined by long cellular extensions called telopodes (Tps) which form a network, connecting them to surrounding cells. These Tps have dilated portions named

Modeling and experimental investigations of the stress-softening behavior of soft collagenous tissues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper deals with the formulation of a micro-mechanically based dam-age model for soft collagenous tissues. The model is motivated by (i) a sliding filament model proposed in the literature [1] and (ii) by experimental observations from electron ...

Artificial Cornea Substitute Based on Hydrogel Skeletons with Natural Stromal Hierarchical Structure and Extracellular Matrix for Sutureless Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Humanized corneal stroma‐like adhesive patches (HCSPs) are developed for lamellar keratoplasty and corneal perforation repair. HCSPs exhibit histological, optical, and biomechanical characteristics similar to those of the natural cornea, with improved wet tissue adhesion, anti‐degradation, and anti‐swelling capabilities compared to conventional tissue ...

The elusive scleral cartilages: Comparative anatomy and development in teleosts and avians

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract The sclera of all vertebrate eyes is comprised of connective tissue, with some organisms developing cartilage within this tissue. A review of the cartilages that have been described in the vertebrate sclera and their anatomical relationships is discussed together with their potential homology.

Properties of Skin Collagen from Southern Catfish (Silurus meridionalis) Fed with Raw and Cooked Food

open access: yesFoods
The southern catfish (Silurus meridionalis) is an economically important carnivorous freshwater fish in China. In this study, we compared the properties of skin collagen from southern catfish fed with raw food (RF) and cooked food (CF). The skin collagen

From Invaginating Site to Deep Lesion: Spatial Transcriptomics Unravels Ectopic Endometrial Penetration Features in Adenomyosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work utilizes spatial transcriptomics to map the transcriptional landscape of adenomyosis with obvious invagination structure from the invaginating site to deep lesions. By integrating with single‐cell RNA sequencing, this study elucidates the molecular features of invagination, invasion, and fibrosis, and finds the major participants and vital ...
