We studied the ultrastructural distribution of laminin, type IV collagen, and the amino terminal pro-peptide of type III collagen (type III pN-collagen) in normal human lymph nodes. After fixation with freshly prepared 4% paraformaldehyde mixed with 0.1%

The collagen nanofiber (CNF) gel supports cancer cell culture, exhibiting cell morphology and cancer‐related protein expression similar to Matrigel. It offers a higher collagen concentration than commercial gels. Additionally, the CNF gel allows replication of the high elasticity of in vivo cancer tissue by controlling collagen fiber sizes, ranging ...

Using PVA–borax hydrogels as carriers for off‐the‐shelf artificial sweeteners to fight multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii. These soft, biocompatible hydrogels rapidly reduce bacterial viability within multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii biofilms by more than 99% within one hour and sustain antimicrobial activity over time, while demonstrating safety in both

A new platelet receptor specific to type III collagen. Type III collagen-binding protein.
Platelet interaction with type III collagen is mediated by several platelet receptors that recognize specific sequences in collagen. We previously described an octapeptide KP*GEP*GPK within the alpha(1)III-CB4 fragment that binds to platelets and specifically inhibits platelet aggregation induced by type III collagen.

Type III Collagen Deficiency in Saccular Intracranial Aneurysms
Background and Purpose —We sought to determine whether there are mutations in the COL3A1 gene in patients with saccular intracranial aneurysms with a type III collagen deficiency and whether there is an ...

Type III collagen turnover as function of age.
Biomarkers reflecting degradation and formation of type III collagen were measured in serum from 303 healthy men and 314 healthy women aged 22–86 divided into 5-year age groups. (A) Formation of interstitial type III collagen (Pro-C3) and (B) degradation

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
