Collapse

open access: yes, 2008
Collapse was a visual performance installation presented at the Old Port of Melbourne in 2008. The audience travelled by boat across Port Phillip Bay to witness the performance begins at Sciencework’s Spotswood Jetty, where the audience travelled by ...

Incremental Collapse of Reinforced Concrete Frames [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
A research program is presented for assessing the plastic collapse load and incremental collapse load of reinforced concrete frames. This investigation attempts to establish a range of validity of simple plastic theory when applied to the under ...

Simulation Study on the Dynamics of Cavitation Bubbles in Multi-Frequency Ultrasound [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Physics and Engineering
Background: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy is an effective minimally invasive treatment technique. Objective: This work aimed to present a theoretical foundation for transient cavitation control in HIFU treatment and investigate ...

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

Thermal duality and gravitational collapse [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Thermal duality is a relationship between the behaviour of heterotic string models of the E(8)xE(8) or SO(32) types at inversely related temperatures, a variant of T duality in the Euclidean regime.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Bending Collapse Of Rectangular Section Tubes In Relation To The Bus Roll Over Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The thesis is concerned with the theoretical determination of the overall and local effects on the collapse behaviour of bus structures in a roll over situation.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Characterising plastic collapse of pipe bend structures

open access: yes, 2006
Two recently proposed design by analysis criteria of plastic collapse based on plastic work concepts, the plastic work (PW) criterion and the plastic work curvature (PWC) criterion, are applied to a strain hardening pipe bend arrangement subject to ...
