From flocking to glassiness in dense disordered polar active matter
Living materials such as biological tissues or bacterial colonies are collections of heterogeneous entities of different sizes, capable of autonomous motion, and often capable of cooperating.

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Collective motions and band structures in A = 60 to 80, even--even nuclei. [Review]
Evidence for and the theoretical understanding of the richness of the collective band structures as illustrated by at least seven bands seen in levels of /sup 68/Ge, /sup 74/Se are reviewed.

CHARACTERISTICS OF TWO-QUASIPARTICLE CHIRAL BANDS
The two-quasiparticle-plus-triaxial-rotor model was applied to study chiral configurations in the 100, 130 and 190 mass regions. It was shown that in order for a degeneracy in the two-quasiparticle partner bands to occur, one needs mutually orthogonal ...

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...
