COLLECTIVE BANDS IN SUPERDEFORMED NUCLEI
International Journal of Modern Physics E, 2008The collective properties of excited superdeformed bands have been investigated in the framework of self-consistent cranked Nilsson plus quasiparticle random-phase approximation. The expected octupole nature of some bands observed recently in some nuclei has been confirmed by a comparative analysis of their E1 decays to the yrast band and of the ...

Smooth Termination of Collective Rotational Bands
Physical Review Letters, 1995Rotational cascades observed in neutron-deficient nuclei with $Z\ensuremath{\approx}51$ are described as the first examples of smoothly terminating bands in heavy nuclei, since they show a continuous transition from high collectivity to a noncollective state.

Nuclear Physics A, 1989
Abstract The structure of the collective bands in 84Sr is investigated within the framework of the deformed configuration-mixing shell model based on Hartree-Fock states. The configuration space consists of the single-particle orbits 1 p 3 2 , 0 f 5 2 , 1 p 1 2 and 0 g 9 2 .

Coexistence of terminating bands and more collective bands in theA ∼ 100 region of nuclei
Nilsson-Strutinsky cranking calculations on A ≥ 100 Ru and Pd nuclei suggest that, contrary to other mass regions, it should be possible to follow the ground state rotational bands to their termination at spins just above I = 30ℏ and then also to observe other bands which terminate at higher spins.

Collective dipole rotational bands in197Pb
The nucleus197Pb was populated via the186W(17O,6n)197Pb reaction at beam energies of 98 and 110 MeV. Two regular ΔI=1 bands of magnetic dipole transitions have been found. Possible interpretations in terms of collective oblate configurations involving high-K proton orbitals coupled to three i13/2neutrons are discussed.

Side bands in collective resonance fluorescence
The fluorescence spectrum of a system of strongly driven atoms, contained in a region that is small compared with the wavelength, is calculated using a screened interaction model. Coulomb dipole–dipole interaction is neglected, but a Markov approximation is not made.

Collective band structure in 66Zn
Abstract The collective nature of states in 66 Zn has been studied by carrying out a deformed configuration mixing shell model calculation in (1 p 3 2 0 f 5 2 1 p 1 2 0 g 9 2 ) model space. An effective interaction obtained for this space by Kuo has been used.

Collective evolution dynamics of multiple shear bands in bulk metallic glasses
The collective behavior of multiple shear bands was investigated under in situ four-point bending tests of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) over a wide range of sample scales.

Collective excitations and band termination in 85Nb
High-spin states in Nb-85 were studied using the GAMMASPHERE Ge detector array and the MICROBALL charged-particle detector system. Three gamma-ray cascades with collective rotational characteristics were observed. One of the bands exhibits a forking at the top, most likely reflecting the termination of one branch into a favoured non-collective, near ...

Underlying Structure of Collective Bands and Self-Organization in Quantum Systems
The underlying structure of low-lying collective bands of atomic nuclei is discussed from a novel perspective on the interplay between single-particle and collective degrees of freedom, by utilizing state-of-the-art configuration interaction calculations
