Density Collective Modes of Exciton Superfluidity in Bilayer Systems
We propose a new way to establish the existence of a superfluid phase in an exciton bilayer system by exploiting the properties of its collective modes. We focus on the density collective modes and treat them within Random Phase Approximation.

Collective modes and terahertz near-field response of superconductors
We theoretically study the low-energy electromagnetic response of Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer–type superconductors focusing on propagating collective modes that are observable with terahertz near-field optics.

Duration-aware unsupervised segmentation reveals collective movement modes in homing flights of pigeon flocks. [PDF]
Background Homing flights of pigeon flocks require rapid adjustments in individual behaviour while maintaining group cohesion. However, how heading adjustments and coordinated movement changes are temporally organised during continuous flight, and ...

Vibrational Model of Heat Conduction in a Fluid of Hard Spheres
Application of a vibrational model of heat transfer to a fluid made of hard spheres is discussed. The model was originally proposed to describe heat conduction in fluids with soft pairwise interactionsHere, it is shown that only minor modifications are ...

Conditions for experimental detection of asymmetric one-way quantum steering in a three-mode optomechanical system are examined. We consider cases of collective steering in which two modes collectively interact with the third mode, and the case of ...

First and second sound in a dilute Bose gas across the BKT transition
We study the propagation of the two sound modes in two-dimensional Bose gases across the Berezinksii–Kosterlitz–Thouless transition using classical-field dynamics, which is motivated by recent measurements of Christodoulou et al (2021 Nature 594 191 ...

Collective excitations of a charged Fermi superfluid in the BCS-BEC crossover
We consider collective excitations in the superfluid state of Fermi condensed charged gases. The dispersion and damping of collective excitations at nonzero temperatures are examined, and the coexistence and interaction of different branches of ...

Transverse collective modes in interacting holographic plasmas
We study in detail the transverse collective modes of simple holographic models in presence of electromagnetic Coulomb interactions. We render the Maxwell gauge field dynamical via mixed boundary conditions, corresponding to a double trace deformation in

Collective dynamics of a neural network of excitable and inhibitory populations: oscillations, tristability, chaos [PDF]
The purpose of this work is to study the collective dynamics of a neural network consisting of excitatory and inhibitory populations. The method of reducing the network dynamics to new generation neural mass models is used, and a bifurcation analysis of

Spin-dipole oscillation and relaxation of coherently coupled Bose–Einstein condensates
We study the static and the dynamic response of coherently coupled two component Bose–Einstein condensates due to a spin-dipole perturbation. The static dipole susceptibility is determined and is shown to be a key quantity to identify the second order ...
