Development of a Moisture-in-Solid-Insulation Sensor for Power Transformers
Moisture is an important variable that must be kept under control to guarantee a safe operation of power transformers. Because of the hydrophilic character of cellulose, water mainly remains in the solid insulation, while just a few parts per million are

Dielectric response and tunability of a dielectric-paraelectric composite
A theoretical study was carried out to determine the dielectric response and tunability of a composite consisting of a linear, low-loss dielectric matrix with uniformly sized, randomly distributed paraelectric Ba0.60Sr0.40TiO3 (BST 60/40) particles as functions of the volume fraction and size of the particles.

Influence of xylene on the dielectric response of an organoclay-containing nanocomposite
The dielectric effect, investigated using dielectric spectroscopy and DC dielectric breakdown strength measurements, of introducing xylene into a composite system containing polyethylene, a co-polymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate and an organoclay can ...

How to Recognize the Universal Aspects of Mott Criticality?
In this paper we critically discuss several examples of two-dimensional electronic systems displaying interaction-driven metal-insulator transitions of the Mott (or Wigner–Mott) type, including dilute two-dimension electron gases (2DEG) in semiconductors,

THE DIELECTRIC RESPONSE OF CRYSTALS
By properly considering the coupling of the ferroelectric fluctuations to the low frequency fluctuations in the phonon density of a piezoelectric crystal, a new contribution to the phonon self-energy is obtained. It is suggested that this terms accounts for the anomalous temperature dependence of the relaxation time of the ferroelectric mode that has ...

Determination of the Primary Excitation Spectra in XPS and AES
This paper reviews a procedure that allows for extracting primary photoelectron or Auger electron emissions from homogeneous isotropic samples. It is based on a quantitative dielectric description of the energy losses of swift electrons travelling nearby

On Static Dielectric Response of Microcomposites of the Type: Ferrolastics-Dielectrics
We describe the static dielectric response of ferroelastic-dielectric microcomposites. Its dependence on temperature, pressure and concentration is considered for smaller concentrations and for temperatures above the critical temperature. We have found a qualitative agreement with existing experimental data for $Al_{2}(WO_{4})_{3}$.
