Dynamic induction control for mitigation of wake-induced power losses: a wind tunnel study under different inflow conditions [PDF]

open access: yesWind Energy Science
Dynamic induction control (DIC), also known as the pulse method, is a wake mixing strategy that has shown promising results for mitigating wake-induced power losses in wind farms. It relies on dynamic collective blade pitching to enhance turbulent mixing,

A Guide for Spatial Omics Technologies: Innovation, Evaluation, and Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review presents a strategy‐centric framework for spatial omics technologies, organizing methods by how spatial information is experimentally encoded. It compares key performance trade‐offs across sequencing‐ and imaging‐based approaches, examines computational and practical limitations, and highlights biomedical applications. The analysis provides

Surface Plasmon Enhanced Photoluminescence of Carbon Dots Formed In Situ on Silver Gratings

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carbon emitters formed in situ on a silver grating via plasmonic catalysis yield enhanced spontaneous emission by preferential radiative decay into surface plasmons. Enhancement manifests as emission exhibiting characteristics of coherence (polarization, directionality), and accelerated lifetimes of ∼30 ps, yielding Purcell factors of ∼70.

The impact of circulation control on rotary aircraft controls systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Application of circulation to rotary wing systems is a new development. Efforts to determine the near and far field flow patterns and to analytically predict those flow patterns have been underway for some years.

MGDP: Mastering a Generalized Depth Perception Model for Quadruped Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Perception‐based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) controllers demonstrate impressive performance on challenging terrains. However, existing controllers still face core limitations, struggling to achieve both terrain generality and platform transferability, and are constrained by high computational overhead and sensitivity to sensor noise.

Application of an adaptive blade control algorithm to a gust alleviation system [PDF]

open access: yes
The feasibility of an adaptive control system designed to alleviate helicopter gust induced vibration was analytically investigated for an articulated rotor system. This control system is based on discrete optimal control theory, and is composed of a set

Aggressive Quadrotor Flight through Narrow Gaps with Onboard Sensing and Computing using Active Vision [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We address one of the main challenges towards autonomous quadrotor flight in complex environments, which is flight through narrow gaps. While previous works relied on off-board localization systems or on accurate prior knowledge of the gap position and ...
