RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Density Functional Theory with Spatial-Symmetry Breaking and Configuration Mixing

open access: yes, 2013
This article generalizes the notion of the local density of a many-body system to introduce collective coordinates as explicit degrees of freedom. It is shown that the energy of the system can be expressed as a functional of this object.

Dynamics of weakly coupled random antiferromagnetic quantum spin chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We study the low-energy collective excitations and dynamical response functions of weakly coupled random antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 chains. The interchain coupling leads to Neel order at low temperatures.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Collective photon emission of two correlated atoms in free space

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2023
By preparing two distant emitters in entangled Dicke states via detection of a single photon, the subsequent spatiotemporal photon emission is investigated.

Continuum Linear Response in Coordinate Space Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov Formalism for Collective Excitations in Drip-line Nuclei

open access: yes, 2001
We formulate a continuum linear response theory on the basis of the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov formalism in the coordinate space representation in order to describe low-lying and high-lying collective excitations which couple to one-particle and two ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Longitudinal collective echoes in coasting particle beams

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2003
Longitudinal ballistic and collective beam echoes with diffusion effects are investigated theoretically. In the presence of the space-charge impedance, the collective echo amplitude is obtained as a closed form expression.

Random global coupling induces synchronization and nontrivial collective behavior in networks of chaotic maps

open access: yes, 2006
The phenomena of synchronization and nontrivial collective behavior are studied in a model of coupled chaotic maps with random global coupling. The mean field of the system is coupled to a fraction of elements randomly chosen at any given time.

Understanding young people's transitions in university halls through space and time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This article contributes to the theoretical discussion about young people's transitions through space and time. Space and time are complex overarching concepts that have creative potential in deepening understanding of transition.
