Model Checking Spatial Logics for Closure Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2017
Spatial aspects of computation are becoming increasingly relevant in Computer Science, especially in the field of collective adaptive systems and when dealing with systems distributed in physical space. Traditional formal verification techniques are well

Crear nuestra propia munda: The stakes of space appropriation by lesbians in Mexico City

open access: yesCahiers des Amériques Latines, 2021
The appropriation of space has historically served as an important tool for the visibilisation of women and queer peoples. Reclaiming space has not only enabled queers to normalise their existence in some urban contexts, but it has also been the basis ...

Neural network based path collective variables for enhanced sampling of phase transformations

open access: yes, 2019
We propose a rigorous construction of a 1D path collective variable to sample structural phase transformations in condensed matter. The path collective variable is defined in a space spanned by global collective variables that serve as classifiers ...

Collective intelligence: A unifying concept for integrating biology across scales and substrates

open access: yesCommunications Biology
A defining feature of biology is the use of a multiscale architecture, ranging from molecular networks to cells, tissues, organs, whole bodies, and swarms.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Drought of Zayandehroud: The Context of a Collective Action [PDF]

open access: yesمسائل اجتماعی ایران, 2023
The water crisis in Iran is a problem beyond drought cycles. Although the decrease in rainfall and the change in its pattern have caused a reduction in the accumulation of water resources, the water situation has become critical at many Iranians ...

Solution of the Nuclear Shell Model by Symmetry-Dictated Truncation

open access: yes, 1995
The dynamical symmetries of the Fermion Dynamical Symmetry Model are used as a principle of truncation for the spherical shell model. Utilizing the usual principle of energy-dictated truncation to select a valence space, and symmetry-dictated truncation ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Collective Action of 'Others' in Sydney

open access: yesPORTAL: Journal of Multidisciplinary International Studies, 2006
Various ethnic communities undertake collective action to satisfy their social needs in a place of settlement. Collectively created social resources are representative of the patterns of fragmented ethnic collective actions that differ in their ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
