Collective behaviors of Drosophila-derived retinal progenitors in controlled microenvironments.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Collective behaviors of retinal progenitor cells (RPCs) are critical to the development of neural networks needed for vision. Signaling cues and pathways governing retinal cell fate, migration, and functional organization are remarkably conserved across ...

Less well-established forms of knowledge: new positionings in the field of collective mental health

open access: yesSalud Colectiva, 2017
Collective health is a paradigm with a long history in Latin America. Similarly, collective mental health has had an interesting development in certain Latin American countries, even acting to stimulate psychiatric reform.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Entering Norwegian treatment collectives: a study of youths' first impressions and experiences

open access: yesScottish Journal of Residential Child Care, 2017
This study focused on the pre-admission and admission phases of residential treatment, assuming that these phases are important for the motivation for treatment and for the kinds of relationships that are established in treatment.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Lagrangian BRST treatment of collective coordinates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Se describe el tratamiento de las coordenadas colectivas en sistemas que presentan ruptura de simetría a nivel de las soluciones clásicas desde el punto de vista de la integral de camino lagrangiana. El tratamiento se basa en el formalismo de Anticampos.

The Treatment of Seed and Seedling Collections

open access: yesBAUHINIA – Zeitschrift der Basler Botanischen Gesellschaft, 1977
Since 1967, I have been responsible for the correct identification of plants cultivated in the Botanic Garden of the University of Basel. It has become obvious to me that several useful aids to the identification of plants are lacking, namely, a seed and fruit collection and a seedling herbarium covering the life of plants under cultivation in all ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Collective action and property rights for poverty reduction: A review of methods and approaches [PDF]

open access: yes
"While much attention has been given to examining various aspects of poverty, a number of studies have shown that institutional environment in which the poor exist conditions welfare outcomes, thus highlighting the inherently crucial importance of ...
