Species of Colletotrichum on Agavaceae
Mycological Research, 2006Species of Colletotrichum cause diseases on a wide range of hosts, frequently infecting plants in the Agavaceae (monocotyledons: Liliales). Three species of Colletotrichum restricted to the Agavaceae were detected through morphological studies of specimens and molecular sequence analyses of the LSU of the nu-rDNA and the ITS region of the nu-rDNA from ...

Colletotrichum species causing anthracnose on avocado fruit in Mexico: Current status
Plant Pathology, 2020Colletotrichum species cause anthracnose disease in tropical and subtropical fruit crops worldwide. Mexico is the main producer and exporter of avocado (Persea americana) globally and has yearly outbreaks of anthracnose on this crop.

Monoterpene biotransformation by Colletotrichum species
Biotechnology Letters, 2017To investigate the biocatalytic potential of Colletotrichum acutatum and Colletotrichum nymphaeae for monoterpene biotransformation.C. acutatum and C. nymphaeae used limonene, α-pinene, β-pinene, farnesene, citronellol, linalool, geraniol, perillyl alcohol, and carveol as sole carbon and energy sources. Both species biotransformed limonene and linalool,

Conidial anastomosis tubes in Colletotrichum
Fungal Genetics and Biology, 2003We describe the occurrence of special kinds of hyphae that create anastomoses directly between conidia. They can be found both in the laboratory and on infected plants. They first appear within asexual fruiting bodies approximately 15 days after conidiation has begun leading to the appearance of chains of connected conidia.

Latent infection of peach caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Colletotrichum acutatum
Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology, 2000Attached, immature peach fruits were mist-inoculated in the field with isolates of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides or Colletotrichum acutatum, beginning approximately 2 weeks before pit hardening and at regular intervals throughout the growing season until harvest.
