Recent Advances in Lemongrass Essential Oil: Food Safety, Preservation, and Bioactivity in Food Systems

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Lemongrass essential oil (LGEO) has gained recognition as a natural preservative in food systems due to its distinctive phytochemical composition and multifunctional bioactivities. Dominated by citral and complemented by terpenes and phenolic compounds, LGEO demonstrates potent antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antibiofilm, and antioxidant

First Report of Colletotrichum acutatum on Kalmia

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2001
Colletotrichum acutatum J. H. Simmonds was isolated from diseased leaves of ornamental Kalmia latifolia L. (mountain laurel) cvs. Carousel and Peppermint on plants imported from the United States to Edinburgh, Scotland, in December 1999. Symptoms included sunken, desiccated, darkened necrotic areas, primarily at the leaf tip.

Utilisation of immunochemical methods for detection of Colletotrichum spp. in strawberry

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2002
Four polyclonal and two monoclonal antibodies were prepared and tested to detect a quarantine pathogen of strawberry - Colletotrichum acutatum. Only one of them, polyclonal IgG K91, was sensitive enough to recognize the pathogen.

Natural Pesticides in Crop Protection: Comparative Advantages, Ecological Risks, and Future Directions

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Although synthetic pesticides have long been used to protect crops, their widespread use has led to significant health and environmental problems, including ecological contamination, resistant pest populations, and hazardous residues in food. These restrictions have sparked interest in natural pesticides (NPs), particularly the secondary metabolites of
