EFFECT OF DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF PROPOLIS EXTRACT COATING ON POSTHARVEST QUALITY OF BANANA ARTIFICIALLY INOCULATED WITH Colletotrichum gloesporioides

Malaysian Applied Biology, 2022
Coating is one of the methods to prevent postharvest loss in food industry. Propolis seems to be promising as a coating due its waxy properties, high antifungal activity and less toxicity. In this study, propolis ethanol extract coating were tested for the antifungal activity against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, the causative fungus that caused ...

Synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles: effect on phytopathogen Colletotrichum gloesporioides

Journal of Nanoparticle Research, 2010
Colloidal silver nanoparticles were synthesized by reducing silver nitrate solutions with glucose, in the presence of gelatin as capping agent. The obtained nanoparticles were characterized by means of UV–Vis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

Application of Aglao E Unhas Compound from Aglaophenia cupressina Lamoureoux against Colletotrichum gloesporioides on Strawberry and Aspergillus niger on Mango

Philippine Journal of Science, 2023
This study aimed to extract and characterize the main bioactive compound of Aglaophenia cupressina Lamoureoux using UV, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. This compound was then tested in vitro using the agar diffusion method at a concentration of 15, 30, and 45 ppm against two fungi isolated from the spoiled strawberry and mango.

Colletotrichum gloesporioides inhibition using chitosan-Ruta graveolens L essential oil coatings: Studies in vitro and in situ on Carica papaya fruit

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2020
In this study we assessed the efficacy of chitosan (CHI) (2%) emulsion added with Ruta graveolens L. essential oil (REO) at different concentrations (0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5%) to control C. gloesporioides grows both "in situ" and "in vitro" in papaya Maradol (Carica papaya L.).

The action of aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) on apple (‘Maxi Gala’) leaf abscission in plants infected by Glomerella leaf spot (Colletotrichum gloesporioides)

Acta Horticulturae, 2016
Abstract In Brazil, leaf abscission in apple trees can occur prematurely due to infection by Glomerella leaf spot (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides). The extent of leaf fall is correlated with ethylene production resulting from the reaction by the host to prevent the dissemination of the pathogen.

Application of coatings formed by chitosan and Mentha essential oils to control anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloesporioides and C. brevisporum in papaya (Carica papaya L.) fruit

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2019
This study investigated the efficacy of coatings formed by chitosan (Chi) and Mentha piperita L. (MPEO) or M. × villosa Huds (MVEO) essential oil to control the development of antrachnnose in papaya fruit caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and C. brevisporum.
