Race diversity and complexity in populations of the sorghum anthracnose fungus Colletotrichum graminicola. [PDF]

A Method for Colletotrichum graminicola Inoculation in Maize Stalks [PDF]
ABSTRACT – Anthracnose stalk rot (ASR) disease caused by Colletotrichum graminicola can lead to major corn yield losses in Brazil. Studies on plant resistance and genetic variation in pathogen populations are required towards the development of ASR disease management strategies. However, the lack of adequate methods for C.

NUDIX‐type hydrolase enzymes of subclade I and II preferentially target the inositol pyrophosphate messengers 4‐ and 3‐InsP7, respectively. Inactivation of subclade II NUDTs disrupts phosphate homeostasis and enhances bacterial resistance, revealing connections between defense and nutrient signaling.

Appressoria are specialized penetration structures for many plant pathogenic fungi, demanding precise cell cycle control. This study unveils MoMtg1 as a transcriptional repressor of MoSwi6, orchestrating MoCYC1 expression during turgor‐driven cell cycle progression to enable appressorium‐mediated penetration. Moreover, a small‐molecule inhibitor ZS1619
