Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Improved Side-Channel Collision Attacks on AES [PDF]
Side-channel collision attacks were proposed in [1] and applied to AES in [2]. These are based on detecting collisions in certain positions of the internal state after the first AES round for different executions of the algorithm. The attack needs about 40 measurements and 512 MB precomputed values as well as requires the chosen-plaintext possibility.

A Robust Heterometallic Pt2Pd2L8 Double Cage Catenane
The first heterometallic Pt(II)–Pd(II) quadruply interlocked cage catenane (Pt2Pd2L8) has been assembled via a combination of metal‐mediated self‐assembly and dynamic covalent chemistry. The integration of inert Pt(II) and labile Pd(II) ions within the architecture enables facile catenation while strongly enhancing stability of the assembly.

The first biometric framework to harness dynamic time warping (DTW) for single‐channel diaphragmatic surface electromyography authentication via post‐hoc alignment is presented. By optimally warping deep–normal–deep breath cycles, DTW achieves perfect genuine–impostor separation (equal error rates = 0%), while a parallel adaptive neuro‐fuzzy inference ...

Opening the Blackbox: Collision Attacks on Round-Reduced Tip5, Tip4, Tip4’ and Monolith
A new design strategy for ZK-friendly hash functions has emerged since the proposal of Reinforced Concrete at CCS 2022, which is based on the hybrid use of two types of nonlinear transforms: the composition of some small-scale lookup tables (e.g., 7-bit
