Rapid Epoxy Polymerization Induced by Aliphatic Cyclic Tertiary Amines: The Roles of Nucleophilicity and Leaving Ability

Quinuclidine, as a tertiary amine, can rapidly polymerize epoxy groups. We investigated the relationship between amine properties and polymerization behavior by monitoring the reactions of various tertiary amines with epoxy groups. The results indicate that quinuclidine, the most nucleophilic amine examined, promotes epoxy polymerization.
