“Seeing” Periodic Structures Emerge: Ultrafast Bright‐ and Dark‐Field Microscopy During Femtosecond Laser Interference Patterning of Silicon

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
We report an ultrafast bright‐ and dark‐field pump‐probe microscopy technique combined with an interference patterning system to imprint amorphous and ablative line‐like structures with micrometer period in crystalline silicon using single femtosecond laser pulses.

Processing Characteristics of High Molecular Weight Polyethylene in Laser Sintering: The Role of Carbon Black Concentration and Processing Strategy for Diode Laser Sintering Machines

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Because of its high viscosity, HMWPE needs an exact adjustment between material and processing parameters as well as printing strategy. The concentration of carbon black fillers influences the processability of HMWPE in PBF‐LB/P. The mechanical properties of printed parts can be optimized by volume energy density and absorption at the optimum carbon ...

Enrichment of Hyaluronic Acid Binding Tumor Cells by Modulation of Selective Adhesion on Microgel Surfaces

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
We have developed a thermoresponsive microgel system for the selective enrichment of hyaluronic acid‐binding tumor cells. By modulating the adhesion on the microgel surface via temperature changes from 37°C to 30°C, we demonstrate a novel proof‐of‐principle for separating these tumor cell from white blood cells, which has potential applications in ...

Mass Spectrometry Structural Proteomics Enabled by Limited Proteolysis and Cross‐Linking

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The exploration of protein structure and function stands at the forefront of life science and represents an ever‐expanding focus in the development of proteomics. As mass spectrometry (MS) offers readout of protein conformational changes at both the protein and peptide levels, MS‐based structural proteomics is making significant strides in the
