Influence of electron-neutral elastic collisions on the instability of an ion-contaminated cylindrical electron cloud: 2D3V PIC-with-MCC simulations [PDF]
This paper is a simulation based investigation of the effect of elastic collisions and effectively elastic-like excitation collisions between electrons and background neutrals on the dynamics of a cylindrically trapped electron cloud that also has an ion contaminant mixed in it.

Current Trends and Future Perspective for Cold Spray Metal‐Ceramic Composites
The use of cold spray (CS) technology for creating cermet deposits, combining ceramic and metallic components, is advancing rapidly. Cermets offer excellent temperature handling and erosion resistance for diverse applications. This review outlines the current state of the art, focusing on the deposition dynamics and strategies to optimize the ...

Amplifying Collision Resistance: A Complexity-Theoretic Treatment [PDF]
We initiate a complexity-theoretic treatment of hardness amplification for collision-resistant hash functions, namely the transformation of weakly collision-resistant hash functions into strongly collision-resistant ones in the standard model of computation. We measure the level of collision resistance by the maximum probability, over the choice of the

Hydrostatic bearings excel in high‐precision applications, but their performance hinges on a continuous external supply. This study evaluates various material combinations for sliding surfaces to mitigate damage during supply failures or misalignment and to discover the most effective materials identified for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of

Simulation and Experimental Study of Modern Fiber Metal Laminate Panels Used in Auto Body to Reduce Vehicle Weight [PDF]
Automobile body plays crucial role in preventing the collision energy transfer in severe accidents to the passengers. If the collision energy is dissipated or saved in bumper or chassis, the amount of damage to the occupants would be minimized.

Decoherence of coherent transport in a disordered one-dimensional wire: Phenomenological model [PDF]
We model the effect of phase-breaking collisions on the coherent electron transport in a disordered one-dimensional single-channel wire. In our model the phase-breaking collisions break the wire into segments, where each segment is an independent series resistor with coherent electronic resistance and the segmentation is a stochastic process with ...

Unusual field and temperature dependence of Hall effect in graphene [PDF]
We calculate the classic Hall conductivity and mobility of the undoped and doped (or in the gate voltage) graphene as a function of temperature, magnetic field, and carrier concentration. Carrier collisions with defects and acoustic phonons are taken into account. The Hall resistivity varies almost linearly with temperature.

Relativistic Gurzhi effect in channels of Dirac materials
Charge transport in channel-shaped 2D Dirac systems is studied employing the Boltzmann equation. The dependence of the resistivity on temperature and chemical potential is investigated.

Mechanical metamaterials capable of compressive stiffness tunability, shape morphing, and post‐fabrication modularity. Herein, the 3D unit cell design is based on an assembly of bistable von Mises trusses that exhibit a switch in compressive stiffness and resting height from one stable state to the other.
