Simulation and Experimental Study of Modern Fiber Metal Laminate Panels Used in Auto Body to Reduce Vehicle Weight [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2011
Automobile body plays crucial role in preventing the collision energy transfer in severe accidents to the passengers. If the collision energy is dissipated or saved in bumper or chassis, the amount of damage to the occupants would be minimized.

Nonconcentration of return times

open access: yes, 2013
We show that the distribution of the first return time $\tau$ to the origin, v, of a simple random walk on an infinite recurrent graph is heavy tailed and nonconcentrated.

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.

Quasi‐Periodic Surface Functionalization by Ultra‐Short Pulsed Laser Processing: Unlocking Superior Heat Transfer in Vapor Chambers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultra‐short pulsed laser processing (ULSP) enables scalable, open‐air fabrication of self‐organized, quasi‐periodic micro/nanostructures on copper using 100 µm laser beams, orders of magnitude larger than the resulting surface features. Integrated into ultra‐thin, wick‐free vapor chambers, these laser‐functionalized surfaces dramatically enhance ...

LOCAL COLLISION SIMULATION OF AN SC WALL USING ENERGY ABSORBING STEEL

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2013
This study evaluates the local damage of a turbine in an auxiliary building of a nuclear power plant due to an external impact by using the LS-DYNA finite element program. The wall of the auxiliary building is SC structure and the material of the SC wall

A Formula That Generates Hash Collisions

open access: yes, 2018
We present an explicit formula that produces hash collisions for the Merkle-Damg{\aa}rd construction. The formula works for arbitrary choice of message block and irrespective of the standardized constants used in hash functions, although some padding ...

Relativistic Gurzhi effect in channels of Dirac materials

open access: yes, 2018
Charge transport in channel-shaped 2D Dirac systems is studied employing the Boltzmann equation. The dependence of the resistivity on temperature and chemical potential is investigated.

Amplifying Collision Resistance: A Complexity-Theoretic Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We initiate a complexity-theoretic treatment of hardness amplification for collision-resistant hash functions, namely the transformation of weakly collision-resistant hash functions into strongly collision-resistant ones in the standard model of computation. We measure the level of collision resistance by the maximum probability, over the choice of the

Enhanced Target Collision Resistant Hash Functions Revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Enhanced Target Collision Resistance (eTCR) property for a hash function was put forth by Halevi and Krawczyk in Crypto 2006, in conjunction with the randomized hashing mode that is used to realize such a hash function family. eTCR is a strengthened variant of the well-known TCR (or UOWHF) property for a hash function family (i.e.
