Studies on the Method of Orthogonal Collocation VII: An Efficient Collocation Method for Diffusion-convection Problems with Chemical Reaction

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences, 2008
In this work we present a new numerical scheme based on orthogonal collocation method to solve a reacting flow problem. The method is based on recasting the problem to become a larger set of first order differential equations and we show by numerical ...

Legendre spectral collocation method for solving nonlinear fractional Fredholm integro-differential equations with convergence analysis

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
The main purpose of this work was to develop a spectrally accurate collocation method for solving nonlinear fractional Fredholm integro-differential equations (non-FFIDEs).

Hermite spectral collocation methods for fractional PDEs in unbounded domains [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
This work is concerned with spectral collocation methods for fractional PDEs in unbounded domains. The method consists of expanding the solution with proper global basis functions and imposing collocation conditions on the Gauss-Hermite points. In this work, two Hermite-type functions are employed to serve as basis functions.

A Newton Collocation Method for Solving Dynamic Bargaining Games [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop and implement a collocation method to solve for an equilibrium in the dynamic legislative bargaining game of Duggan and Kalandrakis (2008). We formulate the collocation equations in a quasi-discrete version of the model, and we show that the ...

Can AI replace humans? Comparing the capabilities of AI tools and human performance in a business management education scenario

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This study provides a comparative assessment of the capabilities of leading artificial intelligence (AI) tools and human participants in a business management education context. Specifically, we (a) assess how well current language models perform in providing answers to standardised essay‐type assessments in a business and management education

An Overrange Collocation Method

open access: yesComputer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, 2011
In this paper, a new meshless method called the overrange collocation method (ORCM) is proposed. By introducing some collocation points, which are located at outside of domain of the analyzed body, unsatisfactory issue of the positivity conditions of boundary points in collocation methods can be avoided.

Simulations using meshfree methods

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, attempt is made to solve a few problems using the Polynomial Point Collocation Method (PPCM), the Radial Point Collocation Method (RPCM), Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), and the Finite Point Method (FPM).

Method for Automatic Collocation Extraction from Ukrainian Corpora [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The article deals with the methods for automatic collocation extraction from Ukrainian corpora. The task of collocation extraction is considered in terms of a corpus-oriented approach [1], based on statistical measures.

A study on the social integration of international secondary students in Canadian high schools

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research on the international secondary students (ISS) is scarce compared with the proliferating literature on their tertiary counterparts. This paper focuses on social integration experiences of ISS from diverse ethnic backgrounds, the undergirding macro‐, meso‐, and micro‐mechanisms, and the supports needed for their successful integration ...

The five‐year itch: Motivational factors that influence the career decisions of early career teachers in England

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Teacher retention in England continues to be in a state of decline, with early career teachers (ECTs) most at risk of leaving the profession. High attrition rates create an unstable and unsustainable workforce, which negatively affects the educational development of young people. The purpose of this paper was to explore the career‐related push
