Abstract This paper examines the experiences of Nigerian cross‐border students in UK higher education, focusing on how colonial legacies continue to shape the interplay between structure and agency. Three key themes emerged in the analysis of the data: First, the persistence of a ‘West is Best’ mentality reflects the internalisation of colonial ...

Abstract In response to globalisation, teacher education programmes worldwide are tasked with preparing globally competent teachers (GCTs). Prevailing conceptions of global competence are largely derived from Western‐centric humanistic, neoliberal and transformative narratives, creating a complex landscape for teacher identity formation.

Orthogonal-Based Second Order Hybrid Initial Value Problem Solver
This work focuses on development of an initial value problem solver by employing a new class of orthogonal polynomial, the basis function. We present the recursive formula of the class of polynomials constructed and adopt collocation technique to ...

I present and discuss two drafts of remarks prepared by the mathematician Hermann Minkowski (1864–1909). They were composed in December 1907 while preparing his paper on the “Basic Equations of Electromagnetic Processes in Moving Bodies” for publication in the Proceedings of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences.

Mitochondria‐endoplasmic reticulum contact sites (MERCS) are areas where the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum closely interact. In this study, we utilize synthetic organelle glues to artificially engineer MERCS for regulating cardiomyocyte development, through which the immature and chemo‐plasticity issues of undifferentiated cells are addressed.

Utterance evolution: the road to generative, combinatorial communicators
ABSTRACT Language has long been considered uniquely complex in the animal kingdom; however, animal research over the last decade has begun to challenge some long‐standing premises about exactly which language capacities are uniquely human. The task of resolving why and how complex communication systems evolve, particularly human language, has ...

The collocation words in Danielle Steel’s leap of faith [PDF]
One of the difficulties in writing English is the naturalness. Sometimes, someone who is not the native of English writes English unnaturally. To use English naturally, someone who is not the native of English can use the collocation words.

An adaptive RBF finite collocation approach to track transport processes across moving fronts
© 2015 Elsevier Ltd. We develop a radial basis function finite collocation method (RBF-FC) that utilises an adaptive quadtree dataset to cluster nodes around critical features in the domain, for the solution of transport processes occurring in moving ...
