Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Trigger Immunomodulatory Effects in Human Broncho‐Epithelial Cells by Modulating Eicosanoid Lipid Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

Temperature‐Induced Morphological Transitions for On‐Demand Detachment in Worm‐Based Polymer Hydrogels

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We developed a temperature‐responsive adhesive hydrogel via polymerisation‐induced self‐assembly (PISA), where adhesion strength is modulated by temperature‐driven morphological transitions resulting core block hydrophilicity change. This system enables detachment at both high and low temperatures—particularly on complex surfaces—while enhancing the ...

Endoscopic Treatment of Colloid Cysts of Third Ventricle: Study of Three Cases

open access: yesIranian Journal of Neurosurgery, 2016
Introduction: Colloid cyst of the third ventricle is a rare intracranial benign tumor. Traditionally, treatment is carried out by transcallosal or transcortical transventricular approach.

Crossing the Blood–Brain Barrier with Molecularly Imprinted Polymeric Nanocarriers: An Emerging Frontier in Brain Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecularly imprinted polymeric nanocarriers (nanoMIPs) offer robust, antibody‐mimetic platforms to overcome the blood‐brain barrier. The article surveys nanoMIP design and ligand‐directed surface engineering that harness receptor‐mediated transcytosis, and highlights therapeutic and diagnostic applications in neurodegeneration, brain tumors and ...

Time‐Resolved SAXS Studies During the Synthesis of Hydrolytically Degradable Poly(ε‐caprolactone)‐Poly(N,N′‐dimethylacrylamide) Diblock Copolymer Nanoparticles in Aqueous Media

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Synthesis of hydrolytically degradable poly(N,N′‐dimethylacrylamide)‐poly(ɛ‐caprolactone) nanoparticles via reverse sequence polymerization‐induced self‐assembly (PISA) at 80 °C is studied by time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS). This technique reveals the formation of molten poly(ɛ‐caprolactone) (PCL) droplets prior to water addition, a ...

Rod‐Shaped Nanotherapeutics Alleviate Rheumatoid Arthritis by Precisely Disrupting Platelet‐Mediated Pathological Crosstalk via a Morphology‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Owing to the margination effect, rod‐shaped nanoparticles exhibit markedly enhanced co‐localization with endothelial‐adherent platelets (PLTs) under dynamic blood flow. When internalized by PLTs, rod‐shaped PNR@Res inhibit FAK and PI3K/AKT signaling in a morphology‐dependent manner, thereby disrupting their pathological crosstalk with various ...
