Rotating crystals of magnetic Janus colloids.
Monodisperse magnetic colloids are found to self-assemble into unusual crystals in the presence of rotating magnetic fields. First, we confirm a predicted phase transition (S. Jäger and S. H. L.

Structurally Colored Physically Unclonable Functions with Ultra‐Rich and Stable Encoding Capacity
This study reports a design strategy for generating bright‐field resolvable physically unclonable functions with extremely rich encoding capacity coupled with outstanding thermal and chemical stability. The optical response emerges from thickness‐dependent structural color formation in ZnO features, which are fabricated by physical vapor deposition ...

Effective collective barrier for magnetic relaxation in frozen ferrofluids
Magnetic relaxation and frequency response were measured in frozen ferrimagnetic colloids of different concentrations. A crossover from reversible to irreversible behavior is observed for concentrated colloids.

Enhanced active motion of Janus colloids at the water surface.
We have investigated the active motion of self-propelled colloids confined at the air-water interface and explored the possibility of enhancing the directional motion of self-propelled Janus colloids by slowing down their rotational diffusion.

This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Stochastic ratcheting of two dimensional colloids : Directed current and dynamical transitions
We present results of molecular dynamics simulations for two-dimensional repulsively interacting colloids driven by a one dimensional asymmetric and commensurate ratchet potential, switching on and off stochastically. This drives a time-averaged directed
