Colloquialism and Naïve Style in Aeschylus
1990Abstract My title is not meant as a hendiadys. Colloquialism and naïve style are independent variables. The link between them is that they are both divergences from an ideal of elegance. I use ‘ideal‘ here in the sense of ‘abstract construct‘, not in the sense of ‘goal‘.
