Interspecies Biofilm Dynamics Among Staphylococci: Inflammatory Contributions to Chronic Rhinosinusitis

ABSTRACT Introduction Staphylococcus species are frequently isolated from the sinonasal niche of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients. While Staphylococcus aureus is often associated with recalcitrant CRS, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus lugdunensis are largely deemed commensal.

Objective Drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) remains a clinical challenge, as therapies modifying disease trajectory are lacking. Increasing evidence implicates gut microbiota dysbiosis in epilepsy pathophysiology, with short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) emerging as key microbial metabolites with neuroprotective and anti‐inflammatory properties.

Human Leukocyte Elastase Triggered Nanoparticles for Targeted Antimicrobial Delivery and Oral Microbial Modulation

This study explores enzyme‐responsive nanoparticles for targeted antimicrobial release in inflamed oral environments. Nanoparticles formed by complexing peptides and chlorhexidine respond to human leukocyte elastase and release chlorhexidine selectively. P7 (ECAAPVCE)‐based formulations show optimal properties and stability, with antimicrobial activity
