Conversion of Infrared Images to Visible in Color

Applied Optics, 1968
An ir line scan instrument has been developed that scans a scene simultaneously with three separate spectral regions and produces an image of the scene as a color photograph. The three spectral regions are 0.5-1.0 micro, 3.0-5.5 micro and 8.0-14.0 micro. The ir detectors used are Si, InSb, and Ge:Hg, respectively.

Color contrast enhanced RGBW conversion

2015 IEEE 4th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2015
RGBW display can emit higher intensity level compared to RGB display but one of drawbacks is reduced color saturation. In this paper, we propose RGBW conversion method which considers reduced color saturation problem. Experiment results show that the proposed method is more effective than conventional methods in terms of saturation and intensity ...

Color video denoising based on adaptive color space conversion

Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010
Denoising is one of the most common and important task in video processing systems and abundant efforts have been made on video denoising nowadays. Multihypothesis motion compensated filter (MHMCF) is an effective video denoising method, which combines multiple hypotheses obtained from motion estimation through a number of reference frames by weighted ...

Fast Algorithm for HDR Color Conversion

2016 Data Compression Conference (DCC), 2016
The paper addresses a problem of perceptual artifacts that appear in Y'CbCr non-linear luminance 4:2:0 HDR video. A computationally inexpensive method is proposed for converting the 4:4:4 HDR video to Y'CbCr 4:2:0 nonconstant luminance format. The method removes artifacts in areas with saturated colors.

Double-color-pumped photorefractive oscillator and image color conversion

Optics Letters, 1987
Can two laser beams of different colors interact with each other to initiate a photorefractive oscillation in a slowly responding (~1 sec) crystal? We report on the operation of this new nondegenerate four-wave mixing device, in which two other beams and the gratings are efficiently self-generated.

One-Stage Model for Color Conversion*

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1972
Description of a one-stage approximation to the color-conversion model of Richards and Parks (1971). The modified model proposes three channels for color vision, each with different center-surround sensitivities. In its strongest form, the model predicts that the gain-setting control that alters the sensitivities of each channel is solely a function ...

Normalization factors in color space conversion

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
The standard color space conversion equations usually do not explicitly account for a change in luminance. In an effort to understand color space conversion better, the color space conversion equations are derived from first principles. The solution shows how to calculate the RGB scale factors using xyY measured at a RGB triplet that is not restricted ...

REVERSIBLE COLOR TO GRAYSCALE CONVERSION [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Information Systems and Operations Management, 2014
This article presents an algorithm for conversion of color images into grayscale ones, together with a codification schema which allows the reconstruction of color images. Two versions of the image recoloring are described.

Efficacy of a color conversion filter in color-vision testing

Color Research & Application, 2000
C Daylight™ glasses are designed to convert light from domestic incandescent lamps (≈Illuminant A) to the Illuminant C phase of daylight. The efficacy of this conversion is quantified here for the Farnsworth D15 test. Spectral transmittance and reflectance data for the filter and D15 caps, respectively, are used to compute chromaticities of the caps ...
