Self‐performed ultrasound is an emerging technology that facilitates adept self‐scans in untrained hands. Inspired by self‐performed imaging in space for more prompt diagnosis and therapy, it has the potential to accurately monitor chronic conditions remotely. Chip Scale Emission of Blue Light at Elevated Temperatures in Optical Waveguides Integrated With Rubidium Vapor

An integrated atom‐clad waveguide enables chip‐scale blue light generation (420 nm) via a two‐photon ladder transition in rubidium vapor at temperatures up to 240°C. The observed bell‐shaped intensity profile reveals a competitive interplay between local photon generation and macroscopic vapor reabsorption.
