Daltonization Enhances Working Memory Performance in Color Vision-deficient Observers
Daltonization methods are image adaptation techniques that adjust screen colors to aid people with color vision deficiency (CVD). Though their effectiveness in boosting the hue’s dissimilarity has been documented, it was not entirely clear to what ...

Toward a Mechanistic Understanding of Color Vision in Insects
Many visual animals exploit spectral information for seeking food and mates, for identifying preys and predators, and for navigation. Animals use chromatic information in two ways.

The Variation of Human Color Vision in Bogor
Human trichromacy depend on three different opsin types. The absence of one opsin type causes dichromacy. Human dichromacy has been studied for its variation and frequency.

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Spatial summation improves bird color vision in low light intensities
Color guides many important behaviors in birds. Previously we have shown that the intensity threshold for color discrimination in the chicken depends on the color contrast between stimuli and their brightness.

Detection of fruit and the selection of primate visual pigments for color vision [PDF]
Primates have X chromosome genes for cone photopigments with sensitivity maxima from 535 to 562 nm. Old World monkeys and apes (catarrhines) and the New World (platyrrhine) genus Alouatta have separate genes for 535-nm (medium wavelength; M) and 562-nm ...

An AI‐powered, robot‐assisted framework automatically produces, images, and analyzes 3D tumor spheroids to evaluate drug efficacy. Integrated modules handle spheroid formation, live/dead staining, brightfield imaging, and automated image analysis, including spheroid segmentation, viability and metrics to assess the drug treatment efficacy. The workflow

Color Edge Detection Hardware based on Geometric Algebra.
Modern techniques treat color images as separate monochrome images for processing. Partly, because there is no straightforward generalization of linear filters available for color.

This article presents dielectric elastomer switch (DES) materials, based on composite thin films. Alignment of graphite flakes due to their physical confinement within the thin films lead to much stronger piezoresistive responses than bulk composites, while their durability exceeds that of conventional liquid‐based DES materials.

Chromatic vision and structural assessment in primary congenital glaucoma
Primary congenital glaucoma is a rare disease that occurs in early birth and can lead to low vision. Evaluating affected children is challenging and there is a lack of studies regarding color vision in pediatric glaucoma patients.
