High dynamic range 3-D shape measurement is a challenge. In this work, we propose a novel method to solve the 3-D shape reconstruction of high-reflection and colored surfaces. First, we propose a method to establish a fast pixel-level mapping between the

Virtual Rephotography: Novel View Prediction Error for 3D Reconstruction
The ultimate goal of many image-based modeling systems is to render photo-realistic novel views of a scene without visible artifacts. Existing evaluation metrics and benchmarks focus mainly on the geometric accuracy of the reconstructed model, which is ...

Common Patterns in the Evolution between the Luminous Neutron Star Low-Mass X-ray Binary Subclasses [PDF]
The X-ray transient XTE J1701-462 was the first source observed to evolve through all known subclasses of low-magnetic-field neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries (NS-LMXBs), as a result of large changes in its mass accretion rate.

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Star Formation in Orion's L1630 Cloud: an Infrared and Multi-epoch X-ray Study
X-ray emission is characteristic of young stellar objects (YSOs) and is known to be highly variable. We investigate, via an infrared and multi-epoch X-ray study of the L1630 dark cloud, whether and how X-ray variability in young stellar objects is ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Methylene Blue (MB) generates colored effluents that are difficult to treat. Solid Scale Waste (SSW) was studied as a catalyst in a Heterogeneous Fenton process for MB removal. The SSW was identified as a non-porous material with 97.5 % iron oxides.

GRB 100418A: a Long GRB without a Bright Supernova in a High-Metallicity Host Galaxy
We present results of a search for a supernova (SN) component associated with GRB 100418A at the redshift of 0.624. The field of GRB 100418A was observed with FOCAS on Subaru 8.2m telescope under a photometric condition (seeing 0.3"-0.4") on 2010 May 14 (

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
