Comparison of chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay based on magnetic microparticles with traditional colorimetric ELISA for the detection of serum α-fetoprotein

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2012
A chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay based on magnetic microparticles (MmPs-CLEIA) was developed to evaluate serum α-fetoprotein (AFP) in parallel with traditional colorimetric enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). A systematic comparison between

Colorimetric methods for rapid determination of pyrazinamide resistance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mycobacteriology, 2020
Background: Because pyrazinamide (PZA) is only effective for Mycobacterium tuberculosis at an acidic pH, susceptibility tests are more difficult to perform than those for other anti-tuberculosis (TB) drugs.

The Biological Properties and Potential Interacting Proteins of d-Alanyl-d-alanine Ligase A from Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
(1) Background: d-alanine-d-alanine ligase (DdlA), an effective target for drug development to combat against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), which threatens human health globally, supplies a substrate of d-alanyl-d-alanine for peptidoglycan ...

Colorimetric Assaying of Exosomal Metabolic Biomarkers

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Exosomes released into the extracellular matrix have been reported to contain metabolic biomarkers of various diseases. These intraluminal vesicles are typically found in blood, urine, saliva, breast milk, cerebrospinal fluid, semen, amniotic fluid, and ascites.

Colorimetric biosensors for point-of-care virus detections

open access: yesMaterials Science for Energy Technologies, 2020
Colorimetric biosensors can be used to detect a particular analyte through color changes easily by naked eyes or simple portable optical detectors for quantitative measurement. Thus, it is highly attractive for point-of-care detections of harmful viruses

DETERMINAÇÃO DO TEOR DE BIODIESEL EM DIESEL EMPREGANDO O ENSAIO COLORIMÉTRICO DO ÁCIDO HIDROXÂMICO

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2015
The aim of this paper was to use colorimetric assays for hydroxamic acid to quantify the biodiesel content in diesel and compare it with the traditional method (infrared spectroscopy, using the EN 14078 method).

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Fabrication of a Malaria-Ab ELISA Bioassay Platform with Utilization of Syringe-Based and 3D Printed Assay Automation

open access: yesMicromachines, 2018
We report on the fabrication of a syringe-based platform for automation of a colorimetric malaria-Ab assay. We assembled this platform from inexpensive disposable plastic syringes, plastic tubing, easily-obtainable servomotors, and an Arduino ...
