Transdermal colorimetric patch for hyperglycemia sensing in diabetic mice

Biomaterials, 2020
The integration of sampling and instant metabolite readout can fundamentally elevate patient compliance. To circumvent the need for complex in-lab apparatus, here, an all-in-one sampling and display transdermal colorimetric microneedle patch was developed for sensing hyperglycemia in mice.

Fano Resonant Aluminum Nanoclusters for Plasmonic Colorimetric Sensing

ACS Nano, 2015
Aluminum is an abundant and high-quality material for plasmonics with potential for large-area, low-cost photonic technologies. Here we examine aluminum nanoclusters with plasmonic Fano resonances that can be tuned from the near-UV into the visible region of the spectrum. These nanoclusters can be designed with specific chromaticities in the blue-green

Bioinspired angle-independent photonic crystal colorimetric sensing

Chemical Communications, 2013
An angle-independent photonic crystal (PhC) colorimetric sensor was developed by using a stimuli-response hydrogel to replicate the template arrays of isotropic photonic crystal beads (PCBs) for the detection of Hg(2+).

Polydiacetylene-Embedded Microbeads for Colorimetric and Volumetric Sensing of Hydrocarbons

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2015
Rational design of a hydrocarbon sensor that enables visual differentiation of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons (SAHCs) is very difficult owing to the lack of useful functional groups that can interact with the sensor system. Here, we report a microbead embedded with polydiacetylene that undergoes faster swelling and faster blue-to-red color change in ...

Highly sensitive and selective colorimetric sensing of antibiotics in milk

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2013
Antibiotics residues in foods are very harmful to human beings. Determination of antibiotics residues relies largely on the availability of adequate analytical techniques. Currently, there is an urgent need for on site and real time detection of antibiotics in food.

Colorimetric and fluorescent sensing of rhodamine using polymethacrylate matrix

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2019
This is a description of the tracer analysis method involving colorimetric and fluorescent measurements based on solid phase extraction of rhodamine into transparent polymethacrylate matrix. Concentration of rhodamine in PMM is measured as spectrophotometric absorption level at 535 nm and fluorescence at 554 nm. The calibration graphs are linear within

Colorimetric “Naked Eye” Sensing of Anions in Aqueous Solution

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2005
[structure: see text] The synthesis and UV-vis and NMR spectroscopic studies of thiourea-based colorimetric sensors for anions are presented. These sensors can recognize anions through hydrogen binding even in competitive pH-buffered aqueous solutions, giving rise to large color changes that are clearly visible to the naked eye.
