The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Wearable Device for Cumulative Chlorobenzene Detection and Accessible Mitigation Strategies
Chronic exposure to low concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as chlorobenzene, is not being monitored in industrializing countries, although VOC exposure is associated with carcinogenic, organ-toxic, and endocrine-disrupting effects.

Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–

Colorimetric sensor arrays: development and application to art conservation [PDF]
Acceptable air pollutant concentration limits for sensitive artwork are generally at or below a few ppb: this is only ∼1% of the permissible exposure limits for humans. Monitoring pollutants at such low levels is an exceptional challenge, especially to do so in a cost-effective fashion for a large number of locations and microenvironments (e.g., every ...

Digital Microneedles for Multiplexed Transdermal Sensing via Fluorescent QR Codes
Digital fluorescent microneedles encode biochemical information in skin into scannable QR codes through threshold‐activated probes that generate binary on/off signals. By transforming analog fluorescence into discrete digital patterns, this platform enables calibration‐free, multiplexed transdermal sensing of physiologically relevant biomarkers ...
