Colour doppler ultrasound in deep venous thrombosis: A comparison with venography
Clinical Radiology, 1990Colour Doppler ultrasound is a new technical development allowing simultaneous grey scale imaging and a dynamic colour flow vascular image. To date, many real time ultrasonic studies have been assessed in the diagnosis of lower limb venous thrombosis and have been shown to be accurate in the femoral and popliteal segments.

Use of colour and spectral Doppler ultrasound examination in gynaecology
European Journal of Ultrasound, 1997Objective: To review and sum up the published literature on gynecological Doppler ultrasound examination. Methods: Publications on gynecological Doppler ultrasound examination already known by the author, publications found in the bibliographic database Medline, and publications found in the reference lists of available studies were read, and relevant ...

Colour Doppler Ultrasound Examination of Hand Tendon Pathologies
Journal of Hand Surgery, 1996Apart from real-time sonography, in most of the imaging techniques used to examine the musculoskeletal system, such as X-ray, computerized tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging produce mainly static images. Although colour Doppler imaging (CDI) is generally used in the examination of blood flow, it may offer the opportunity to study the ...

Cleft palate: Confirmation of prenatal diagnosis by colour Doppler ultrasound
Prenatal Diagnosis, 1993AbstractWe present a case of a twin with trisomy 47,XX+i(9p) in whom the diagnosis of cleft palate was confirmed by colour Doppler imaging demonstrating abnormal fluid flow across the fetal pharyngeal bone defect. Application of this technique in cases predisposed for this congenital lesion may prove beneficial in the diagnosis of the more subtle types

The reliability of 2D and colour Doppler ultrasound in localising longline position
Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health, 2008Background: The position of percutaneously inserted central venous catheters (longlines) in neonates is critical, as malpositioned longlines are associated with potentially fatal complications.Aim: To determine if cardiac ultrasound (two‐dimensional (2D) and colour Doppler) is useful in evaluating longline position, when compared with the position ...

Colour Doppler ultrasound for the evaluation of bowel wall thickening.
The British Journal of Radiology, 1999We performed colour Doppler ultrasound to evaluate bowel wall thickening and to determine the effectiveness of this modality. 42 patients (aged 8-83 years old, mean age 43.5 years) with bowel disease underwent both grey scale and colour Doppler ultrasound examinations.

Ultrasound and colour Doppler sonography in acute osteomyelitis in children.
Acta orthopaedica Belgica, 2005Early diagnosis of osteomyelitis is of paramount importance to avoid irreversible sequelae. This often requires a multimodal approach. The purpose of the present study was primarily to evaluate how ultrasound might be useful in early diagnosis of osteomyelitis in the paediatric age group.
