Advancing Energy Efficiency in Smart Windows via Dual‐Responsive Electro‐Thermochromism
A durable and stable quasi‐solid‐state electro‐thermal dual‐responsive photothermal regulation device has been employed in advanced energy‐efficient smart windows. The devised device not only incorporates a thermochromic hydrogel characterized by high ionic conductivity, high optical transmittance, and a low LCST, but also comprises an electrochromic ...

This study reveals that long non‐coding RNAs represent important regulatory components underlying pear domestication and improvement. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify selected lncRNAs associated with fruit traits, while functional validation uncovers a lignin‐related lncRNA, lncRNA‐pys, that promotes lignin accumulation.

A critical survey is made of neurophysiological and psychophysiological investigations of colour vision. A neuronal model of colour-spatial vision is suggested. The model allows a unified explanation of the whole range of psychophysiological phenomena: the mixing of colours of high-frequency image components, the McCollough type colour after-effects ...

Abstract The minute dimensions of a Calliphora fly rhabdomere produce electromagnetic effects that can modify the rhabdomere's absorption spectrum from that of its photopigment. We show that the results of microspectrophotometry which display a different receptor response peak for the smaller central rhabdomere in comparison with its six larger ...

WITH reference to the comment on my lecture at the Royal Society of Arts in NATURE of February 17, I did not give the evidence in favour of the visual purple being the visual stimulus transformer on account of the time at my disposal. This evidence is very strong, and the facts are inexplicable on any other hypothesis.

Abstract Colour vision in man is well understood, but for obvious experimental reasons it is less so in the case of other animals. Some evidentally have a three-colour system similar to our own but based on different primary colours. In particular, some are sensitive to ultraviolet light, which the human eye is not.

ACCORDING to Gates1 the frequency of pure albinos is about 1 in 15–25,000 of the population in Scotland. Owing to the kindness of Miss E. C. MacQuade, an albino woman aged about 45–50 years was brought for colour vision tests. She was a pure albino, according to Gates's classification, having cream-white hair, eyebrows and eyelashes, and only a very ...
