Editor\u27s Column [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The last few months of my residency have been a strange time for me. Half-way out the door and half-way in, I find myself simultaneously saying hello and good-bye. This in itself is not unusual.

COLUMN TESSELLATIONS

open access: yesImage Analysis & Stereology, 2015
A new class of non facet-to-facet random tessellations in three-dimensional space is introduced -- the so-called column tessellations. The spatial construction is based on a stationary planar tessellation; each cell of the spatial tessellation is a prism whose base facet is  congruent to a cell of the planar tessellation.

New column configurations for pressure swing batch distillation I. Feasibility Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The feasibility of the pressure swing distillation in different batch column configurations is investigated. The method is based on the assumption of maximal separation. Besides studying the well known batch configurations (rectifier, stripper, middle

Reanalysis of Copernicus Measurements on Interstellar Carbon Monoxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We used archival data acquired with the Copernicus satellite to reexamine CO column densities because self-consistent oscillator strengths are now available. Our focus is on lines of sight containing modest amounts of molecular species.

Small carbon chains in circumstellar envelopes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Observations were made for a number of carbon-rich circumstellar envelopes using the Phoenix spectrograph on the Gemini South telescope to determine the abundance of small carbon chain molecules.

Spectroscopic Analysis of H I Absorption Line Systems in 40 HIRES Quasars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We list and analyze H I absorption lines at redshifts 2 < z < 4 with column density (12 < log(N_HI) < 19) in 40 high-resolutional (FWHM = 8.0 km/s) quasar spectra obtained with the Keck+HIRES.

Deployable lattice column [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Lattice column, made up of many individually collapsible sections connected in tandem, rapidly raises measuring instruments to a level appreciably above that where data is to be recorded and evaluated.
