Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Derivation of Emissions From Satellite‐Observed Column Amounts and Its Application to TROPOMI NO2 and CO Observations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
A unified framework that connects emissions with satellite‐observed column amounts is derived from first principles. The emission information originates from the inner product of the horizontal wind and the gradient of column amount, which is more ...

A new column-generation-based algorithm for VMAT treatment plan optimization [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2012
We study the treatment plan optimization problem for volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). We propose a new column-generation-based algorithm that takes into account bounds on the gantry speed and dose rate, as well as an upper bound on the rate of change of the gantry speed, in addition to MLC constraints.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

The Angular Set Covering Problem

open access: yesIEEE Access
We present an innovative extension of the Set Covering Problem, transitioning from a traditional radial covering to an angular covering structure. The decisions are based on locating the facilities and identifying the directional servers installed in ...

Predicting Epileptogenic Tubers in Patients With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Using a Fusion Model Integrating Lesion Network Mapping and Machine Learning

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.
