Combinatorial Games

2008
Traditional game theory has been successful at developing strategy in games of incomplete information: when one player knows something that the other does not. But it has little to say about games of complete information, for example, tic-tac-toe, solitaire and hex. The main challenge of combinatorial game theory is to handle combinatorial chaos, where

Tron, a Combinatorial Game on Abstract Graphs

Fun with Algorithms, 2011
We study the combinatorial two-player game $\texttt{\rm tron}$. We answer the extremal question on general graphs and also consider smaller graph classes. Bodlaender and Kloks conjectured in [2] PSPACE- completeness. We prove this conjecture.

Combinatorial Games and Machines

2015
Mathematics and technology interact with each other for their respective benefit. This article will try to illustrate this unavoidable fact by studying the machines built to play games—especially combinatorial games (no chance moves)—and their impact on the development of mathematical ideas.
