On a combinatorial game with an application to Go-moku
AbstractLet A be a finite set and F be a family of its subsets. Two players pick m resp. n points alternately from A. I wins if he picks all the points of some element of F, otherwise II wins. We give a sufficient condition for II to have a winning strategy. Using this we prove the following statement. If in Go-moku I occupies m places, and II occupies

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Two-Level Algorithm for the UAV Routing Problem with Moving Targets
Introduction. UAV routing problems gain relevance considering expanding uses in the defense industry. Contrary to the civil aviation with static depots and end users, the problems arising in defense require drone routing with moving targets.

The Sequential Join of Combinatorial Games
We study the sequential join of combinatorial games, and show that all combinatorial games form a monoid under this operation. We also show how this can be used to study games such as Childish Hackenbush and a new variant of normal play Hackenbush.

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Partitioned Combinatorial Optimization Games
We propose a class of cooperative games, called PARTITIONED COMBINATORIAL OPTIMIZATION GAMEs (PCOGs). The input of PCOG consists of a set of agents and a combinatorial structure (typically a graph) with a fixed optimization goal on this structure (e.g., finding a minimum dominating set on a graph) such that the structure is divided among the agents ...

Tron, a combinatorial Game on abstract Graphs
We study the combinatorial two-player game Tron. We answer the extremal question on general graphs and also consider smaller graph classes. Bodlaender and Kloks conjectured in [2] PSPACE- completeness. We proof this conjecture.
