Analysis of edge stress of combined shell under internal waves

open access: yesAIP Advances
Internal wave is essentially a gravity wave induced by the layered structure of water (e.g., density stable layering), with its maximum amplitude occurring within the ocean.

Combined effects of thermal stress and ice impacts on polar ship hulls: A numerical study

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
In polar environments, the combined effects of low temperatures and ice loads greatly influence the structural response of ships. While existing studies have primarily focused on individual factors, systematic analysis of their combined effects is ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Numerical Simulation and Tests of Lateral Bearing Capacity of Sloped Offshore Monopile Under Vertical Load and Lateral Cyclic Load

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Offshore monopile foundations endure complex loads during service. They bear vertical loads from the superstructure’s self-weight and lateral cyclic loads (e.g., wind, waves), while near-coastal seabeds are usually sloped.

Mission load dynamic tests of two undensified Space shuttle thermal protection system tiles [PDF]

open access: yes
Two tests of undensified Space Shuttle thermal protection tiles under combined static and dynamic loads were conducted. The tiles had a density of approximately 144 Kg/cum (LI900 tiles) and were mounted on a strain isolation pad which was 0.41 cm (.160 ...

Water Quality Sampling, Analysis and Annual Load Determinations for Nutrients and Solids on the Ballard Creek, 2008 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Arkansas Water Resources Center monitored water quality at Ballard Creek at the Washington County Road 76 Bridge in northwest Arkansas during base flow and storm events from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Water samples were collected manually or

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Analysis on the Dynamic Behavior of Space Shafting under Combined Load

open access: yesShock and Vibration
The space shafting is the core component of the momentum exchange attitude control actuator for spacecraft. The dynamic behavior of space shafting has an important impact on the performance of the actuators. Based on the dynamic theory of rolling bearing,
