Abstract In 1941 the BBC began a weekly radio programme called the Brains Trust. It was to prove popular and uplifting to a nation straining to resist the Nazis. The undoubted star was ‘Professor’ Cyril load, the head of Birkbeck’s philosophy department, but not in fact a professor of the University.

ON THE STATE COMPLEXITY OF COMBINED OPERATIONS AND THEIR ESTIMATION
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2007We consider the state complexity of several combined operations. Those results show that the state complexity of a combined operation is in general very different from the composition of the state complexities of the participating individual operations. We also consider general estimation methods for the state complexity of combined operations.

Combined Operation for Cataract and Glaucoma
Ophthalmologica, 1979In cases of cataract and glaucoma, we performed a cataract extraction combined with a Lagrange sclerectomy, a trabeculectomy or a Scheie's cauterization. We obtained the best results with Schie's cauterization.

On the State Complexity of Combined Operations
2006The state complexity of combined operations is studied. We show that the state complexity of a combined operation can be very different from the composition of the state complexities of the participating individual operations. However, the estimate through individual nondeterministic state complexities for each of the combined operations being ...

On the convex combination of the Dziok–Srivastava operator
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2007In 1999 Dziok and Srivastava have introduced the following operator \[ H_p(\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_q; \beta_1,\dots,\beta_s): f(z) \mapsto h_p(\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_q; \beta_1,\dots,\beta_s; z)\ast f(z) \] with \(h_p(\alpha_1,\dots,\alpha_q; \beta_1,\dots,\beta_s; z) = z^p\cdot _{q}F_{s}(\alpha_1,\ldots,\alpha_q; \beta_1,\dots,\beta_s; z)\) and \(_{q}F_ ...

Combination of Mechanical Operations
1970Many operations are possible on a centre lathe. Several of these operations, carried out in the correct sequence, are required to produce components of the desired shape and size. Complete the table opposite for some typical operations.
