Magnesium‐Based Transient Bioelectronics, Bio‐Optics and Bio‐Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper reviews the state of the art and recent advances in magnesium‐based thin‐film, foils, and scaffolds for applications in transient bio‐optics, bioelectronics and tissue engineering. The design principles, fabrication methods, material properties, and integration strategies are discussed in detail.

Flammability of Two Mediterranean Mixed Forests: Study of the Non-additive Effect of Fuel Mixtures in Laboratory

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
In the Mediterranean region, wildfires are a major disturbance, determined by ecosystem and forest species characteristics. Both the flammability and resistance to fire of a mixed forest may vary from those of the individual species.

One‐Step Curcumin‐Mediated Multiphoton Lithography for Bioactive 3D Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Curcumin‐mediated multiphoton lithography enables one‐step fabrication of highly architected complex gelatin methacryloyl scaffolds by exploiting curcumin as a multifunctional bioactive photoinitiator. The resulting 3D structures support mesenchymal stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration, while exhibiting dual antibacterial activity through ...

Make‐Use‐Remake: Toward Indefinite Low‐Temperature Material Loops

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a regenerable materials platform built from microparticles bound by a temperature‐responsive polymer shell, enabling strong, processable structures from diverse feedstocks. The material is shaped at low temperatures (80°C) using common manufacturing methods and reprocessed repeatedly in the presence of water, demonstrating stable ...

Numerical Analysis of Heat Transfer in Fire-Protective Coatings Deformable upon Heating

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Numerical studies of heat transfer in fire-protective coatings deformable (intumescent) upon heating have been conducted. The optimum combination of the computation-scheme parameters providing stability, convergence and satisfactory accuracy of solutions

Combustion behaviour of dusts in quasi- stationary state

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2019
Within the scope of safety related assessment of combustible dusts, burning tests are of huge importance in the field of fire and explosion protection as they evaluate the burning ability of sedimented dust resulting in the so-called combustibility index.

Fullerene‐Mediated Iodine Immobilization at Buried Interfaces in Sn–Pb Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Indene‐C60 bisadduct (ICBA) accumulates at the buried interface of inverted tin‐lead perovskite solar cells, limiting undesired electron extraction while maintaining efficient hole transport. ICBA simultaneously scavenges molecular iodine, mitigating Sn2+ oxidation and interfacial recombination. This coupled electronic‐chemical regulation delivers 22.7%

Modeling forest fire risk using the Fuzzy-AHP method in the Belezma National Park (Aures-Algeria)

open access: yesJournal of Degraded and Mining Lands Management
Wildfires in Belzema National Park (Algeria) pose a real threat, exacerbated by climate change and socio-economic impacts. This necessitates the development of a technique that enables effective management of areas degraded by this disaster. Most current

A Novel Perfused Full‐Thickness Human Skin Microphysiological System for Modeling Injury, Regeneration, Tumor Pathophysiology, and Therapeutics Development

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
What if human skin could remain fully alive and functional outside the body for weeks? A New Alternative Method (NAM) based on a vascularized full‐thickness skin microphysiological system achieves precisely this, preserving native vasculature, resident immunity, and metabolic activity for up to three weeks, while faithfully recapitulating radiation ...
