Bioinspired Mechanically Robust Organic–Inorganic Hybridized Bio‐Adhesives With up to 50% Inorganic Components by Bi‐Continuous Phase Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A robust plant protein adhesive was prepared by fabricating a bi‐continuous organic–inorganic hybrid structure. Compared with traditional organic–inorganic hybrid adhesives, the addition amount of inorganic phase is increased from 0.2%–3.0% to 50%, and the strength and toughness are increased by 6 and 121 times, respectively.

Experimental Study on the Effects of Oxygen Concentration and Thermal Radiation on the Combustion Characteristics of Wood Plastic Composites at Low Pressure

open access: yesFire
The use of artificial oxygenation to counteract the effects of hypoxia and improve living standards in high-altitude, low-oxygen settings is widespread. A recognized consequence of this intervention is that it elevates the risk of fire occurrence.

Turbulence characteristics in Internal Combustion Engines

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1982
The velocity of gas flow in the combustion chambers of two engines was measured, and the turbulence characteristics were investigated. It is shown that the auto-correlation coefficient of the fluctuating component of velocity and the normalized one-dimensional energy spectral density of turbulence are nearly determined by the integral time scale of ...

Interlayer Expansion of Bulk MoS2 via Top‐Down Organic Pillaring Enables Tunable Li+ Intercalation and Controlled Solvent Co‐Intercalation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Top‐down organic pillaring expands the interlayer spacing of bulk‐sized MoS2 particles while preserving the bulk morphology. Operando X‐ray diffraction and electrochemical dilatometry show that MoS2‐bulk undergoes solvent co‐intercalation in diglyme electrolyte, causing large structural expansion, while pillared, expanded MoS2 suppresses solvent uptake

Combustion Characteristics of Combustion Chamber Using Compost as a Fuel

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2014
AbstractThe aim of the present study is to develop the biomass furnace combustor which can effectively use the compost as a fuel. Here, the compost which is made from pig's waste and has the calorific value of 2000kcal/kg, is employed here. Emphasis is placed on the optimum conditions of fuel and air flow rates, moisture content of the compost and the ...
