Structure‐Sensitive Steam Reforming of Methane Over Exsolved NiAl‐Layered Double Hydroxides

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
Exsolution of Ni nanoparticles from NiAl‐layered double hydroxides (LDH) provides a route to systematically control nanoparticle size in Ni/Al2O3 catalysts over the range of 4–18 nm. Methane steam reforming shows strong structure sensitivity, being favored over smaller (<10 nm) particles with 80 % methane conversion and a high specific hydrogen ...

Comparative Physicochemical Characterization of Two Commercial Hydroxyapatite‐Based Collagen Biostimulators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 8, Issue 4, July 2026.
Direct, multimodal characterization reveals that two commercial HA–collagen biostimulators share a hydroxyapatite–dominant composition and similar crystalline structure, with ≈$ \approx $30 µm HA spheres and near‐physiological pH. Differences arise mainly from the gel matrix—Na‐CMC and glycerol—driving subtle rheology and tonicity variations.

Combustion oscillation: Chemical control showing mechanistic link to recirculation zone purge time

open access: yes, 1995
Active control mechanisms are being examined for lean premix combustion applications, such as gas turbine generators. Lean premix combustors are susceptible to large combustion oscillations, particularly when driven very lean to achieve low NOx.

Unified Attention Recurrent Neural Network for Bias Correction of MJO Prediction

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract In global subseasonal forecasting using dynamical models, correcting the systematic biases of Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO) predictions has proven critical, particularly due to issues of rapid amplitude damping and phase distortion. To address these biases, recent studies have demonstrated that deep learning offers a promising solution by ...
