Fish Sperm Subpopulations Detection, Separation, and Application: Current State and Trends

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 4, September 2026.
Modern advances in sperm biology highlight the necessity of recognising intra‐ejaculate heterogeneity as a central concept for advancing both the fundamental understanding of fertilisation processes and the development of artificial reproduction techniques in fishes. ABSTRACT Sperm subpopulations represent a fundamental manifestation of intra‐ejaculate

Microbial Oxidative Stress in Food Fermentations: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Oxidative stress has a dual role in food fermentations: low ROS supports adaptive signaling, whereas excessive ROS causes cellular damage and process inhibition. Managing redox state as a controllable process variable can improve fermentation robustness and final food quality.

Beyond Tradition: An Integrated Toxicological, Ecological, and Public Health Perspective on Aristolochic Acids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 8, Page 2599-2622, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aristolochia species have long been used in traditional medicine for their presumed anti‐inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial properties. However, extensive toxicological and epidemiological evidence now demonstrates that these plants contain aristolochic acids (AAs) I and II, highly potent nephrotoxic, genotoxic, and carcinogenic ...

Genetically Engineered Probiotic Nanoplatform for Ultrasound‐Enhanced Colorectal Cancer Therapy via Targeted Delivery, Immune Modulation, and Anti‐Angiogenesis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
The study constructed an integrated diagnosis‐treatment system by using engineered probiotic EcN expressing ARGs and Cur‐Lip‐FA. It enables US guided tumor targeting, real‐time in vivo drug monitoring, and US‐assisted curcumin induced immunogenic cell death, and activating the cGAS‐STING pathway to boost CD4+/CD8+ T cell anti‐tumor immunity.
