science with the irait telescope: the commissioning phase

EAS Publications Series, 2009
We briefly outline the plans for scientific activities with the International Robotic Antarctic Infrared Telescope (IRAIT), recently mounted at Dome C. We summarize a few fields where infrared observations with the IRAIT telescope can be effective and we focus on a key project for the Commissioning Phase, namely the determination of the ...

VENµS Commissioning Phase: Specificities of Radiometric Calibration

IGARSS 2018 - 2018 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2018
For an earth observation mission, the commissioning phase consists of 3 major parts as far as image quality is concerned: geometric calibration, radiometric calibration and performance assessment. Each part has plenty of activities but this article focuses only on the radiometric calibration of VENµS satellite.

External Calibration Results of the SAOCOM-1A Commissioning Phase

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2022
SAOCOM is a scientific and commercial mission developed by CONAE, the National Space Commission of Argentina. It is composed of two identical satellites, each one carrying a fully polarimetric L-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR). The main driver of the mission is the retrieval of soil moisture, an application that demands high radiometric and ...
