A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Compact and Wideband Differentially Fed Dual-Polarized Antenna With High Common-Mode Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A compact and wideband differentially fed dual-polarized antenna with high common-mode suppression is investigated in this paper. A square patch with crossed-slot consisting of four slant funnel-shaped slots is used as the radiator, generating slant ...

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

A Mendelian randomization study of genetic liability to cutaneous melanoma and sunburns

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundSome studies have reported that sunburns and cutaneous melanoma (CM) risk is increasing, but a clear causal link has yet to be established.MethodsThis current study conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to clarify the ...

Compact Dual-Band Differential Bandpass Filter Using Quadruple-Mode Stepped-Impedance Square Ring Loaded Resonators

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, a new quadruple-mode stepped-impedance square ring loaded resonator (SI-SRLR) is proposed, and a high-performance dual-band differential bandpass filter (BPF) is developed.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Identification and characterisation of calcitonin receptor isoforms expressed in glioblastoma derived glioma stem and U‐87 MG cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma cells express calcitonin receptor variants (CT receptor isoforms) that may help them survive stress. Using qPCR, transcript‐specific long‐read nanopore sequencing, immunofluorescence co‐localisation and comparative sequence analysis, this study identifies a novel alternatively spliced CALCR transcript that encodes the CTb receptor isoform ...

Analyzing and reducing common mode noise in high power inductive power transfer systems for electric vehicles using precise balance technique

open access: yesScientific Reports
In inductive power transfer (IPT) charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs), shielding metals are commonly used to reduce electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation emitted by the coils. Nevertheless, these components also introduce additional common mode (

Design optimization of integrated CM/DM inductors for power drive input filter

open access: yesPower Electronic Devices and Components
More electric aircraft face many challenges related to the weight and losses of power quality and EMI filters. A solution to reduce weight and losses is integrating the Differential Mode (DM) and Common Mode (CM) inductances of filters in the same ...
